Summary:
The Earthshaker is a legend from the when the Celtic world covered northern Europe. Lowry is an acclaimed leader who heads the fearsome dark Gauls, but he bears the scars of an anguished childhood. The matter of his origins is reopened by the death of Cassir Crotach, who reared him since he was a child. For a Celt, to be without family is to be rootless, so Cassir's passing leaves Lowry haunted by gaps in his memory. Lowry sets off on a quest for his bloodline on an epic journey from Gaul, risking the dangers of the trek across Britain and sailing to Ierne (Ireland), the end of the known world. At the Great Fair at Tara his inquiries create suspicion from those in power. Attempts on his life send him fleeing to the wilds. But there is no hiding from a power that means to destroy this upstart who has become a threat to the foundations of Ierne.
