Germans make a stand in the Battle of the Bulge. -- 11. Sept. 1944- March 1945. In Canada the conscription issue threatens the King government. Canadian divisions cross the Siegfried Line. -- 12. April-August 1945. Germany is beaten. VE day celebrations take place. Concentration camps are discovered and the first atomic bomb is dropped.
